The Polka Dot Personalized Gifts LLC celebrated its grand opening on Friday, March 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The business is located in Suite 106 at 7540 East Brainerd Road in the new East Brainerd Galleria. It is next door to The Little Gym.

The Polka Dot, which opened on February 1, customizes all kinds of items including luggage, purses and backpacks. The staff can even personalize diaper-bags, pet-harnesses and piggy-banks. All of these items may be purchased at the shop, but The Polka Dot can also personalize items bought elsewhere.

Amanda Shelby and Jill Hammond, owners of the new enterprise, graduated from Bradley Central High School. Shelby has studied business at Lee University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Dalton State College. Ms. Hammond, who studied art at Austin Peay University, personalizes many of the items for sale at The Polka Dot.

The Polka Dot is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce member-investor services department made arrangements for the ribbon cutting.
