Community Engagement

The planning process has stressed the importance of inclusion from its inception. To be effective, a strategic plan must hear directly from the community it is meant to serve through all stages of development. Chattanooga Climbs partners and Avalanche Consulting have worked diligently to hear a wide variety of perspectives from across the city and county as they prioritize issues and develop strategic actions to address them. To date, the consulting team has engaged more than 200 residents through interviews, focus groups, and Steering Committee workshops. Groups that have participated in the process have included:

  • Chamber Board of Directors
  • City and County Elected Officials
  • Economic Development Partners
  • Educators and Workforce Developers
  • Entrepreneurs
  • High-Growth CEOs
  • Human Resource Managers
  • Inner City Faith Leaders
  • Logistics Industry Leaders
  • Manufacturing Businesses
  • Neighborhood Leaders
  • Non-profit Leaders
  • Real Estate Professionals
  • 60-member Steering Committee
  • Young Professionals

The consulting team will continue to seek stakeholder perspectives through the completion of the Economic Development Strategy.
