The Chattanooga/Hamilton County Business Development Center is a 125,000 square foot former ceramic manufacturing facility which has been renovated into a highly successful business incubator.
Located at 100 Cherokee Boulevard, the BDC is owned by the county and managed by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
The BDC offers start-up businesses office or manufacturing space at below-market rental rates. Tenants have access to BDC clerical support, fax machine, copier and postage machine. The Tennessee Small Business Development Center, which has offices in the BDC, provides a business library, computer and video centers, and business counseling services, available to BDC entrepreneurs, free of charge. |

VIRTUAL OFFICE |
The BDC now offers temporary office space designed to accommodate traveling business people, home-based businesses, pre-incubator prospects and visitors to BDC tenants. The office is fully furnished and equipped with standard office equipment and high-speed Internet service, as well as a telephone. Support services such as copying, faxing, or postage can be completed at the front desk. The Virtual Office is available for rent by the day, week, or month.

The BDC currently houses 56 tenant businesses with more than 300 employees in 2009. Approximately 21% of the businesses are female owned or co-owned, with approximately 25% minority ownership.

The BDC has been a member of the National Business Incubator Association (NBIA) since 1989. With a membership of more than 800 business incubators, economic development agencies, and other organizations nationwide; the NBIA promotes professionalism and serves as an advocate for incubators and small businesses.
The BDC is recognized for its success and is among the top six percent of business incubators in the nation, according to the NBIA. National awards include: |  |
