The program uses the exploration of community issues to develop leadership skills that prepare graduates to succeed in prominent business, cultural and political roles.
Sponsored by the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation, Leadership Chattanooga provides comprehensive leadership training through experiential learning opportunities, community service projects and interaction with the community's top leadership.
Each month, the Leadership Chattanooga class meets to explore different aspects of leadership and various challenges facing the community. Session topics have included Education; Healthcare; Economic Development; Arts & Quality of Life; Media & Communications; Local Government; State Government and Justice & Law Enforcement.
Experiential learning opportunities have included joining Chattanooga police on patrol duty and meeting with state leaders in Nashville, and community projects.
More than 1,200 people have graduated from Leadership Chattanooga since the program's inception in 1984. The Leadership Chattanooga Alumni Association (LCAA) offers professional development, networking and leadership opportunities for LC graduates.
