Odyssey 2011 Luncheon and Awards Ceremony


WHAT: Odyssey 2011 Luncheon and Awards Ceremony: A Journey of Rising Stars honoring local women and girls for accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

The Supernova Award will honor one woman from among five finalists for career accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, and/or math.

The Rising Shining Star Awards will recognize two students, one middle school and one high school student at Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy for academic excellence in STEM courses.

Acclaimed special investigations correspondent and host of CNN’s In America documentaries, Soledad O’Brien, will present the awards to the winners.

Odyssey 2011 is hosted by the Young Women’s Leadership  Academy Foundation, founding sponsor of the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy – Tennessee’s first all girls public charter school.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 10 from Noon – 1:30 pm
