One of Chattanooga’s business leaders showcased its latest technology to over 130,000 people at America’s largest trade show – The International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Clarity, the leading developer of telephones for the hearing loss community, joined some of the world’s most innovative companies at the show which allowed Clarity to display its distinctive products and address the growing need for technological advancements for the hearing-impaired.
Clarity’s president, Carsten Trads, discussed the future of hearing and the impact Clarity is having on millions of individuals. Considered by many as a "hearing guru," Trads has a unique perspective on the hearing field, having previously served as president of GN ReSound’s North American Operation, a manufacturer of hearing aids and audiological equipment. "Blending the acceptance of a standard telephone with the proven power of hearing aid technology will significantly enhance the quality of life for millions within the hearing loss community," Trads said.
Besides sharing his vision for Clarity’s role in the global market, Trads also used the international platform to address the relationship his company shares with The EAR Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization known for physician training and pioneering advances in the treatment of hearing loss. The two organizations have joined forces to improve public access to medical knowledge and technology related to hearing health. A recent study released by the alliance showed that nearly half of the 76 million Baby Boomers in the U.S. are experiencing some degree of hearing loss.
Clarity also unveiled the new C600, a portable telephone which shapes high-frequency sounds, enabling those with hearing impairments to hear telephone conversations more clearly. The phone features a back-up battery pack in the base, ensuring stable and reliable communications in the event of an emergency, power outage or electrical disruption.
