Community Leaders Offer Insights into Chattanooga History, Renaissance, Future
Chattanooga, Tennessee -- City Mayor Ron Littlefield, County Mayor Claude Ramsey and Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Jim Scales are among community leaders who will serve as presenters at the September 2006 Chattanooga Insight.
The program will take place September 20 and 21 in the Community Room of United Way of Chattanooga at 630 Market Street. The program is sponsored by the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation.
Patterned after the Chamber’s Leadership Chattanooga program, Chattanooga Insight offers a focused look at the city’s renaissance, the leaders and resources necessary to perpetuate the renewal and the opportunities for involvement in advancing the city to the next level.
"Chattanooga Insight is a great way to get a fact-based overview of the city," said Ann Weeks, general manager of Ivan Allen Workspace and Insight chair. "It is best-suited to business leaders, particularly those who are new to Chattanooga or their positions."
Other speakers are Dr. Roger Brown, chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; Dr. Kay Andrews; Chattanooga Police Chief Steve Parks and Jim Kennedy, president of Kennedy, Coulter, Rushing and Watson.
Insight participants will also engage in sessions with Karen Hundt, director of the Planning and Design Studio; Bob Doak, Chattanooga Area Convention and Visitors Bureau president; Don Andrews, president of Allied Arts of Chattanooga; and Mike Landguth, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority.
Chattanooga Insight will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 20 and from 8 a.m. to noon on September 21. A continental breakfast will be served both days. Participants will have lunch at Miller Plaza on September 20. Registration is due by September 15.
