Posted September 02, 2008

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- A ribbon cutting and open house will mark the opening of The Layman Foundation, the first occupant and developer of La Collina Business Center. The festivities will be held on September 8, with the ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. and the open house to follow.

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce is assisting with the festivities.

La Collina Business Center is located at 8876 Apison Pike in Collegedale between Blue Planet and C & P Bucket on the newly constructed roadway soon to be called La Collina Way.

The Layman Foundation, which relocated to La Collina on August 1, was created by Lida Funk Scott in 1924.  The non-profit foundation owns titles to land throughout the South and provides resources to rural private schools.

In La Collina the foundation takes on the role of commercial development and has 7,000 square feet of build-to-suit office space available for lease. Classroom space seating 30 and featuring the latest in a/v technology, plus an executive board room for 18 people are also available for community events.

The La Collina Business Center will serve Collegedale, Ooltewah and East Hamilton County.  Located five minutes from Enterprise South, the site of the new Volkswagen plant, La Collina is the front door to Chattanooga’s Summit Softball Complex.
