Convergys to Create 700 Jobs to Support DIRECTV Customers
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, is currently recruiting for 700 new positions at its contact center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The new employees are scheduled to be added between May 2 and the end of this year.

Convergys has been the major provider of customer care services to DIRECTV since it launched its digital television programming service nearly 12 years ago in 1994.

Convergys' Chattanooga contact center is located in the Eastgate Town Center and began operations in 1997. The 68,000 square-foot facility operates 18 hours per day, 365 days per year. With the addition of new jobs at the center, Chattanooga employees will manage approximately 800,000 customer contacts per month.
Convergys’ Chattanooga employees participate in numerous community service activities including partnerships with the Urban League and the Southeast Career Center. In addition, Convergys is a supporter of United Way, Make a Wish foundation, the Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity. Convergys employees also participate in charity walks, food drives and other charitable events.
Currently, Convergys employs over 1,600 people in Tennessee in customer contact centers in Chattanooga and Clarksville.
