The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce made arrangements for the ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of In Good Health, a new family practice medical office in East Ridge.

The ribbon cutting was November 3 at the office, located at 1508 Tombras Avenue, across from the McBrien Elementary School.. An open house with refreshments and door prizes will follow. Everyone is welcome to attend, meet the staff and learn about the services In Good Health offers.

Laurie Davis, who is in the office daily, is a family nurse practitioner and has been in practice for over six years. Dr. Michael Prostko, the supervising physician, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Vicky Hobbs, a Chattanooga native, is the medical assistant.

"We believe in treating our patients in a warm and friendly environment," Davis says. "Our ultimate goal is to provide quality care so our patients will be healthier as a result of what we do."

In Good Health treats patients from ages six and up for a variety of illnesses, both common and acute. Appointments may be made; walk-ins are welcome as well. In Good Health does minor surgeries, like repairing a laceration or removing moles, as well as performing well women’s exams, sports physicals, and DOT physicals.

In Good Health offers a weight loss program (Aweigh You Go), as well as a stop smoking program.

In Good Health is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. New patients are being accepted, but the practice does not file insurance or accept insurance assignment.
