iller Industries, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of towing and recovery equipment, has announced a $10 million expansion and modernization that has created more than 100 new jobs. According to Miller Industries Chairman and Co-CEO Bill Miller, the expansion is an outgrowth of the company’s success in 2005 during which profits more than tripled compared to the previous year.
The project will add 50,000 square feet to the existing Miller Industries Towing Equipment Inc. facility in Chattanooga, bringing the total to 275,000 square feet. The project broadens the company’s capabilities and makes the facility more flexible.
Components of the project include creation of separate facilities for both the lightduty and heavy-duty business units as well as
the addition of new welding equipment, shot blasting, and paint facilities. The company began hiring and training the employees several months ago in anticipation of this expansion.

Miller Industries markets its towing and recovery equipment under a number of well-recognized brands, including Century, Vulcan, Chevron, Holmes, Challenger, Champion, Jige, Boniface and Eagle.
