Chamber Names Pipkins Ambassador of the Year
Florence Pipkins , winner of multiple Ambassador of the Month Awards, is recipient of the 2009 Ambassador of the Year Award. “I have enjoyed meeting Chamber business owners and learning about their companies and organizations, while I delivered the new member and renewal visit packets or attended their grand openings and ribbon cuttings,” says the MetLife financial services representative and Ambassador of the Month for August. “It is a pleasure conducting the telephone service calls and further learning about existing Chamber member businesses and the fascinating types of enterprises in our wonderful city.” Pipkins enjoys meeting decision-makers, informing them of Chamber services and making important contacts.
Pipkins is also owner of and interior designer for “Elegance” by Choice LLC, which provides, she says, “fine designs for your budget.” Her voluntary work includes service on the Southeast Advisory Council to the Tennessee Women’s Economic Council. Pipkins and her husband, Wadell, have three grown daughters, six grandchildren, two dogs and a cat.
Jeffery Compton , director of new business development at Redline Printing, was Ambassador of the Month for July, the third time he has received the honor. Compton joined the Ambassadors to help promote the Chamber, serve businesses by helping them make mutually beneficial connections and to network in the interest of his own company. “Chattanooga is such a giving town,” he says, “so it makes sense to help serve others in sharing the benefits of being part of the Chamber.” Compton says his phone calls keep members’ information up-to-date in the Chamber database and more importantly provide a personal contact. Compton and his wife, Margaret, have three children.
Just over a year ago the June Ambassador of the Month Carol Adams purchased a BrightStar Healthcare franchise, the second one in Tennessee and one of 106 nationally. Naturally, she’s devoted a lot of time to building the personal support service agency that offers personal and companion care in her client’s homes, nanny services for children and staffing services for facilities needing healthcare professionals. Adams also stays busy attending several Chamber council meetings a month and attending ribbon cuttings and annual events. She also serves on the Ambassadors’ steering committee and on the board of the Hixson Council. Among her family in town are parents Trudy and Randall Camp, daughter Katye Couch, and grandchildren, Clay and Emerson. |
