Economic Stimulus Package


On this page is information regarding the House and Senate versions of the economic stimulus bill, or H.R. 1, “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009”, or ARRA.  The bill which passed on February 13 is extraordinarily complex, impacts many areas of government, and will require time to fully evaluate.

The bill is divided into two main parts:
A.  Appropriations of $311 billion
B.  Tax package totaling over $479 billion

Below are texts of each part of the bill, plus summaries provided by the Finance Ways & Means and Appropriations Committees.  There is also a cost estimate provided by the Congressional Budget Office.

Certain provisions of the bill still require further scrutiny for their impact on businesses.  Information will be posted once it’s available.
