Creating a Diverse Marketplace
Target supports to help grow and more deeply involve minority-owned enterprises
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) is a company level diversity certification. Generally, for an organization to be eligible for certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, the company must be at least 51% owned by a socially and economically disadvantaged person. There may be additional requirements based on net worth or company size.
Organizations wishing to become DBE certified should contact the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Generally the certification process involves completing an application and undergoing an on-site review conducted by the certifying body.
The Chamber maintains a listing of DBE certified businesses in Hamilton County that can be accessed here.
