Your Vote Matters Chattanooga
In the most recent City of Chattanooga elections, only 16 percent of registered voters chose to cast a ballot. The good news? You can help us change that stat.
Let’s be the change for Chattanooga.
We're sure you’re aware that the Chattanooga area has a voter engagement dilemma. Over the past few years, the number of registered voters participating in local elections has plummeted. For example, in the most recent City of Chattanooga elections, only 16 percent of the registered electorate, or 18,245 people, choose to cast a ballot. Not much better, even with a hotly debated referendum on the ballot, barely a quarter of eligible voters (or 53,685 people) went to the polls during the 2014 Hamilton County elections.
In 2018, Tennessee ranked 41 of 50 in voter turnout nationally.
